Inspired by the pictorial and decorative technique of scratching and engraving the material surface to reveal an underlying colour in the desired pattern, this sophisticated, textured jacquard transcribes the mecanical process through a skilful weave. Two thick threads of wool and cotton in two tones are combined with the subtle ribbed texture of a cotton reps in irregular relief, like a vibrant ottoman.
